What is the real difference between cheeky and Brazilian?

Cheeky leaves the lower half of the seat uncovered. Brazilian cuts higher at the leg and narrower at the back, so it covers less again. A thong covers least of all. All three are named on the piece rather than left to the photograph.

Does a high waisted bottom actually hold anything in?

The ones with a stated tummy control panel do, because they carry a second layer of fabric across the front. A plain high waisted bottom sits higher but does not compress. The description separates the two.

Are board shorts worn over a bottom?
