This is the smallest department and the one that gets worn most. A cover-up is what you have on for the walk down, the lunch afterwards and the drive home, which adds up to more hours than the swimming does.

The long sleeve pieces are a different animal. A zip-front sleeved one piece covers the shoulders through a whole day outdoors and holds through an actual stroke. That is what puts them here rather than with the sunbathing suits.

Is a sheer kimono see-through?

Yes, and that is the design. A sheer cover-up softens the line rather than hiding it. If you want genuine coverage over a swimsuit, a beach dress in a heavier fabric is the piece to look for.

Do long sleeve swimsuits keep the sun off?

They cover the skin they cover, which is the honest version of the answer. We do not publish a UPF rating, because we would be repeating a number rather than a measurement of our own.

What goes over a bikini for lunch?

A sarong if the bottom half is the concern, a kimono if it is the shoulders, a beach dress if you would rather not think about it at all. All three are in here and named for what they are.
